CHURCH HISTORY
Calvary Baptist Church was organized in 1909 by the ministers of the Warren County Baptist Association.
The building was erected in 1923 under the leadership of the Pastor L. H. Winn-B.D. Later, on September 30, 1973, the church was reconstructed and rededicated under the leadership of the Pastor R. T. Strong, B.S., B.Th., who lead this church for over 50 years. Dr. Joe N. Mosley was elected pastor in August of 2011.
Under the leadership of Dr. Mosley, Calvary began construction of a new church in the Vicksburg area.
In the summer of 2019 Calvary moved to its present location at 4995 Indiana Avenue.

We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God, an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe, infinite in holiness and all other perfections to which we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. He is revealed to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

Our foundation is built on believing that the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is the duty of all to accept to accept them by faith. We believe that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner except his own voluntary refusal to accept Jesus Christ as Teacher, Savior, and Lord.

We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believer’s, associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His word. Our mission is to reach the lost, by teaching the saved to serve.
